Man, I really need to get back into my habit of blogging daily! I have to many crazy little things happen from day to day. Mr. and I are enjoying our three day weekend again. We took Irie for a walk yesterday and got really grossed out. When we walk, Irie goes side to side sniffing the grass the whole time we walk. While we were walking, he grabbed something with his mouth and froze where he was standing. Mr. did a mouth sweep, and in his mouth he grabbed.... A FISH! On the side of the sidewalk, Irie found him a fish! Later during our walk, he grabbed a mouth full of duck poop! Yucky! I don't want any sugar from him for a while.
The other day, I was convinced I was going blind. I was getting ready to go out with Mr. so I put my contacts in and I couldn't see anything. I took them out and put them back in and still couldn't see. Mr. walked in and asked me while I had put his contacts in :( I felt kinda dumb.
We are on a Koo-Aid kick. I feel like a five year old! Kool-Aid is awesome, so far my favorites are lemonade and orange. Yummy, and when made with Splenda it is actually healthy.
Today I successfully made potato candy! I was so proud; I have attempted to make it since I was really young. I have been craving it and haven't been able to find it anywhere. Mr. thinks I should open a bakery! :) I love him so very much and he makes me feel so good about myself.

Yea! Date Night!
We had such a wonderful time last night! Mr. got off work around four and came home to play xbox. I cooked spaghetti! I love spaghetti! Afterwards, we went and watched "She's out of my league" it was our first movie to watch on base. It was so funny. I laughed more last night than I have in a long time. It was good, but it definitely earned it's "R" rating. It was so nice to get out and have a date with my husband!
I still haven't found my camera charger, so no new pictures.

Catch Up
So I was messing around on facebook when Mr. turns to me and asks have I been keeping up with my blogging. I said no and he informed me that I needed to get caught up :) Ya gotta love him. Well, it has been 10 days since my last blog, so I will just do highlights.
Last weekend we went to a cookout and had a great time. I met some wives on facebook and it was really nice to actually get to meet them and spend some time with women! I feel like I am always surrounded by men! They all had kids, which is cool, but sometimes I feel like we are the odd couple out. Pretty much all of our friends are single or have families. We are just not there yet; we have too many things we want to do and I don't want to drag a baby around to do them... but anyways...
Irie has decided that he likes pooping on the carpet of the downstairs hallway :( This does not make me happy. He has been rather crabby lately and we don't know how to get him to behave :( Last week after Mr. mowed, Irie had hulk hands and feet- He dug the grass clippings until he was partially green. Since I don't want to fight with him in baths as much, I decided to shave him :) He is now our naked little rat. Here he is with his little green paws next to his daddy's green shoes.
We have had some left over gift cards from our wedding, so we went shopping :) We got a really cute patio table with four chairs and a charcoal grill! We were very excited about the grill and wanted to cook out the night we bought it. We had our grill, the charcoal, lighter fluid, hot dogs, and hamburgers... then we realized that neither of us had ever had an active part at cooking on a grill, you gotta love us. I don't think we cooked them the right way, but they got cooked and were tasty. For desert, I grilled apples in cinnamon and brown sugar and we ate it on top of ice cream - YUMMY!
I have to talk about my awesome culinary skills, LoL. I wanted homemade chicken fingers, but I was out of Bisquick and bread crumbs. I was awesome and made my own bread crumbs! The turned out so much tastier than store bought and I was so proud of myself. Here is my homemade cooking: chicken fingers, Mexican cornbread, and greens :) A little bit of Southern cooking all the way up here
Here is part of our new patio table. I can't wait for it to quit raining so we can use it again :)

Today marks the end of our first three day weekend together. Mr.'s squadron has started 4 days on and 3 days off which is pretty nice so far. He is off Wednesday -Friday so we are probably going to get our days all mixed up with our "weekend" not being the real weekend. We had such a great time together and I got to decorate our house a little bit. I love our house, but we have cookie cutter base housing and I want it a little bit more personalized.

I like it.. I love it..
I have been in such a great mood lately!!! This is very awesome because since moving to South Dakota I have been kinda gloomy feeling. Yesterday I went to HeartLink... If you are a military spouse and haven't gone, I suggest you do it!! We received a lot of hand outs and listened to a whole lot of people talk... kinda information overload, but I needed it. The most awesome, amazing thing: : : I got to sit in the pilot seat of a B1 bomber!!! If only I had my phone on me instead of in my purse :( But it was AWESOME!!! I think I am going to start volunteering at the thrift store on base to give me something to do until that sonography job of my dreams comes open. It was also cool because they gave us cute blankets (of course I got a green one!! :)) I also won the raffle and got a cute bucket with cookies on lollipop sticks!!! Kerry took a bite of the flower before I snapped the picture!
Today was really pretty, so I opened the windows to get some fresh air in. The "base voices" outside announced a thunderstorm and I was like whatever; so I went downstairs to change out the laundry. All of a sudden, I heard a weird noise and ran upstairs... IT WAS HAILING!!! It only lasted a few minutes, but it was crazy. Afterwards... it was humid! I was so excited for some humidity. I know that sounds crazy, but I'm a southern girl and it made me feel at home :)
After the weather calmed down, I went shopping at the commissary. I decided to start trying to only grocery shop every other week; so I had my list all made out and ready to go. Tomorrow I am having a cooking day and cooking some chili to freeze and maybe Mexican lasagna. As I was going through the aisles, I saw something that nearly made me do a happy dance in the middle of the store... CHEESE DIP!!! I guess the world is still a good place :)

Road Trip
Yesterday was such a long wonderful day! The Mr. and I were busy all day long :) Since it was a clear sunshiney day, we decided to do some sight seeing. We drove all around the area and saw many different amazing views of nature. I'll try to let the images speak for themselves...

That good stuff
I enjoy when people enjoy my food. I had plans of cooking the Cajun rice with sausage for dinner tonight. The Mr. came home sicker today than yesterday :( After napping and watching some of Shrek 2, he decided he wanted some of my chicken broth.
Back story on my chicken broth... Since becoming a house wife, I have discovered the joy of taking the long way to cook things. I enjoy cooking things myself so that I know everything that is being put into my belly. I tried boiling chicken, and was impressed with the broth it made. So now I use carrots, celery, onions, and/or anything I think will make a tasty broth. I finally got Kerry to taste my last batch before freezing it and he really liked it.
I couldn't just feed him chicken broth... So, I made my first batch of homemade chicken noodle soup. I had to steal the noodles from a box of hamburger helper and to throw in some chopped carrots. The result was yummy. I fixed Mr.'s with some ritz crackers and had mine with premium minis which are yummy!
Hopefully after another night of NyQuil Mr. will be feeling much better!

Ode to Cheese Dip
I slept good last night!! Finally!!
SO I felt a whole lot better today. I got the house cleaned up pretty nice today (pat on the back). I even went and worked out! Kerry is helping Lannin do some work on his car; dinner is going to be later than what I had planned.
And on to my overwhelming thought of the day:
I WANT CHEESE DIP!!
I want good Mexican restaurant cheese dip; the kind that is white and has peppers in it. The yummy dip that I think I used to eat my weight in during my many visits to my favorite Mexican restaurant. I can't even find the right cheese in order to make it at home.
Dear cheese dip: I miss you so very much. Please do not think I have turned my back on you for other cheese dips... As soon as I can, we will be together again. By the way.. I'm drooling over this picture.
OK.. Now that I sound crazy, I'm going to go start cooking my fajitas.

Wednesday!!
I am so excited that today is Wednesday! Kerry says that it is supposed to be a nice weekend... So we are going to go out and about! Yay! I look forward to every weekend I get with Kerry.
Nothing really interesting happened today. I have not been sleeping much lately which is killing my back for some reason :( Irie and I have been being cuddle buddies all day long :)

Easter
Since I have so much extra time on my hands, I have decided to start posting blogs to keep everyone up to date on mine and Kerry's crazy wonderful life.
We are slowly adjusting to life in South Dakota. It is definitely different than anywhere I have lived before. It goes from 70 degree weather (beautiful) to 30 degree snowing weather (ugh). After living in busy Memphis for a year and a half, I feel like there is nothing to do here and no where good to shop. I am slowly meeting new people here; only met three ladies here though :(
We hosted Easter dinner Sunday for some of Kerry's friends. We had a good time and had lots of food. It was nice to meet new people and have a good time. Irie, of course, had a good time sniffing and licking as much as possible :)
Here are some pictures of our meal. I cooked ham, broccoli casserole, green beans, mashed potatoes, and steamed celery and carrots. Megan brought some yummy baked macaroni and cornbread. Take note of the huge pile of ham- Kerry was afraid we would run out!!
Irie was enjoying playing with Manabat!
